Overview

SeniorCareCalc.org ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information we collect

Calculator inputs: When you use the cost calculator, your selections (state, hours, rate overrides) are processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or log calculator inputs on our servers.

Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — pages visited, session duration, geographic region (country/state level), and device type. GA4 uses anonymized data and we do not enable User-ID tracking. You can opt out of GA4 tracking using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising: We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings.

Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

We do not set any first-party cookies for tracking or targeting purposes. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links, primarily for long-term care insurance products. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase or submit a lead form, we may earn a commission. Affiliate links are disclosed on all pages where they appear. We only link to products and services that are relevant to long-term care planning.

Third-party services

Data retention

We do not retain personal data. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per our GA4 configuration. AdSense cookie data is managed by Google per their data retention policies.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including: access to your data, deletion of your data, opting out of data sale (California residents under CCPA), and data portability. Since we collect minimal data and use third-party services (Google) for analytics and advertising, most requests should be directed to Google via their privacy tools.

For CCPA purposes: we do not sell personal information. AdSense may constitute "sharing" of data for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes under California law; you can opt out via Google's Ad Settings link above.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
